# Make Changes to a Report

## How do I make changes to a Stella Smart Report?

What you can change, and how, depends on where the report is in its life.

### Draft reports

A report still in **Draft** is defined entirely by your conversation. Click it in your Report List and carry on chatting — describe what you want added, removed or reworded, and Stella will adjust.

Once the report covers what you need, the **I Love It** button submits it.

**Help! The "I Love It" button is greyed out.**

That means Stella doesn't yet have enough to work from — the button becomes available once the report is sufficiently defined, and the message beside it says so.

If you think you've described it fully, ask Stella to "show an example of the report based on the query". Seeing the example usually resolves the gap, and the button becomes available.

 

### Pending, Waiting and Working reports

While Stella is queuing or building your report, it can't be changed. Wait for it to reach **Ready** — that's the point at which your feedback goes in.

### Ready reports

A **Ready** report has produced a version for your review. Open it and read it first.

Then open the chat drawer with **Ask about this report**. At the bottom you'll be asked whether you're ready to approve.

- **Approve** accepts the report and makes it Active.
- **Make Changes** opens the conversation so you can describe what needs to be different.

After describing your changes, click **I'm done giving feedback**. The report returns to **Working** while Stella rebuilds it, and comes back to **Ready** for you to look at again.

You can go round that loop as many times as you need — nothing is final until you approve.

### Active reports

An **Active** report is approved and running, so changes go through the Stella team rather than the chat. Click **Talk To a Human** in the panel on the right of the report page.

**Good to know**

Renaming is the exception — you can rename any report yourself, at any time, from the pencil in the header, whatever its status.
